HEARTLAND explores the theme of our bodies' and hearts’ sense of coming home. Internationally-recognized performance artist Ledoh will take the audience on a journey deep within our very DNA to discover a sense of home grounded in our shared ancestry as earth-dwellers. Join us in an organic celebration of our connection to the HEARTLAND that resides within each of us.
Artistic director Ledoh describes his inspiration: "Every culture has its heartland, the breadbasket that sustains it, a home to which we hope to one day return. As a displaced person and member of Burma’s indigenous international diaspora, I explore what it means to come home in an age of displacement, virtuality and globalization. This work reflects my immense gratitude for the generosity of the land and for communities built upon an agrarian way of life."
